Arcana Gnostica
The Gospel of Truth | A Gnostic Gospel from Nag Hammadi
October 18, 2026About this film or conversation
The Gospel of Truth is an early Christian text associated with the Valentinian tradition and preserved principally in Nag Hammadi Codex I, with another fragmentary copy surviving in Codex XII.
Despite its title, it is not a narrative gospel like Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. It reads more like a theological meditation or homily centered on one fundamental problem: humanity has forgotten the Father.
In this installment of *ARCANA GNOSTICA* we enter the world of The Gospel of Truth and explore its extraordinary vision of ignorance, Error, revelation, redemption and the return of humanity to the divine source. For the author of The Gospel of Truth, ignorance of the Father produces fear, anguish and separation. Salvation arrives through knowledge: the revelation of the Father through the Savior awakens those who have forgotten their origin.
The text describes the Pleroma, the Logos, the dissolution of Error and the restoration of those who recognize where they came from and to whom they ultimately belong.
